Past Projects
Here are some of the past projects we have been involved in, we are always looking for new challenges.
Calculus and Lights (Tyler):
Using an IC chip and an Arduino, a strand of GE color effects lights were controlled to ‘dance’ to the music. Any audio source can be plugged in via an auxiliary cable, and the code will take an estimated derivative of the incoming values and adjust the lights accordingly.
Tron Lightsuits (Tyler):
Whats bright, skin tight, and lights up a lot? Tron Lightsuits, that’s what. After watching a group on Americas Got Talent perform a dance routine in light up suits, Tyler believed that he could build them on his own. Consisting of 60 feet of EL wire, a power inverter, switches, and a lot of wiring stuffed in a sweet fanny pack, him and his friends performed multiple times in their new creations. Viewer discretion advised – I never claimed to be a good dancer.
NBA Point guards – Do they shoot more 3’s? (Tyler):
As an avid basketball fan, I hear a lot of talk about how the league has been changing. So I decided to try and find the answer to one question: How has the shooting of point guards today changed since the inception of the 3 point shot in 1980? To answer this question, I graphed each active point guard since 1980 with respect to the amount of 2 point and 3 point shots respectively. I then added a line of best fit, to show what the average shooting trend for point guards was during that year. When you put run through the graph chronologically, there is a clear trend of point guards taking more 3’s each successive year. Where will this trend go? Only time will tell.
